This summer, Elias Hayek is back at Metal Powder Group – and he’s not here to observe. A materials engineering student entering his final year at KTH, Elias has returned to deepen his hands-on experience in powder metallurgy.

“Developing materials and improving processes is what drives me. Powder technology has huge potential – and it’s at the forefront of Swedish industry right now,” Elias explains.

During his first summer at Metal Powder Group, Elias transitioned from a planning role into the lab, where his knowledge came to life. One of his key contributions was analyzing and addressing a persistent process issue – work that helped elevate product quality and is now shaping current procedures.

Now, he’s shifting focus to product development, with an emphasis on corrosion performance.

“What brought me back was the trust and resources to lead my own projects. That kind of opportunity is rare – and incredibly motivating,” he says.
